Hawkclaw slunk around near the undergrowth, her belly practically scraping the ground. She scented the air for prey every few paw steps, twitching her ears to catch any sound. Finally, she caught the scent of mouse and rabbit. She looked towards the rabbit scent first, but noticed that it was just retreating into its hole. Hawkclaw hoped it wasn't because of her.. There was more, at least, and the she-cat focused again on the mouse-scent. The golden brown she-cat slipped along the ground, making sure the mouse didn't feel her, and then, when she was close enough, pounced. The small creature was caught right between her paws, and the warrior cut its neck to kill it.

Spiderstar sheepishly walked out in the forest for some fresh calm air. The camp was calm yes, but she wasn't. She needed to clear her head. Taking a walk would help her clear it.
Opening her mouth, she breathed in the crisp air and caught scent of her clan mate. Picking up her pace she searched quickly for her. Her eyes darted around and she soon caught sight of her. Coming up behind her slowly, she stopped as not to frighten her. "Hello Hawkclaw!" She said weightedly, her fatigue and drearyness coming through like oil on water.

Hawkclaw turned to her leader, looking up from the mouse that she was burying. "Oh, hello, Spiderstar," she said, with no hint of excitement in her voice but no annoyance either. She tilted her head slightly, asking, "Are you sure you don't need some rest? You sound kind of tired." For a moment, she picked the mouse up and said, "If you go back, would you mind taking this for me? I still have hunting duty." She swished her tail through the air, shutting her eyes against a cold breeze. "Leafbare's coming, and I want to be prepared."

Spiderstar dipped her head in thanks to the sincerety of Hawkclaws words. She didn't want to rest, nor be back at the camp. "I appreciate you concern Hawlclaw, but I would much rather be out. May I join your hunt? As you said, Leaf Bare is fastly approaching and we do need all the prey we can scrounge up." Spiderstar mewed and then walked to the left of Hawkclaw and opened her mouth to smell the air for any hint of prey. Scents of mouse and vole filled her nostrils, she was disappointed though that she didn't find any hints of bird. Sighing she looked at Hawkclaw and grinned.

Not wanting to contradict her leader, Hawkclaw nodded, turning and listening for any prey. More mouse and vole...
Quickly, she scraped earth over her prey, and headed towards a place where she had heard a vole's steps. She had scented it, too, but mostly, she was focusing on sound right now. Hastily, she dropped into a crouch, stalking it and making sure that it didn't feel her. Voles were a lot like mice mixed with shrews; very small but quick, a hunting cat needed to make sure that they didn't cause vibrations on the ground. That was exactly what Hawkclaw was making sure to do. Finally, she was close enough to pounce, and she caught the creature with three of her long claws. Immediately, she killed it with a bite to the neck, and placed it next to the spot where she had put her mouse.
